Campaign on the Sustainable Development Goals with Cartooning for Peace
At the occasion of the 2015 European Development Days

2015 is a pivotal year for global sustainable development and poverty eradication. As stated in the Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament, the Council, the European Economic and Social Committee of the Regions "A Global Partnership for Poverty Eradication and Sustainable Development after 2015" the EU is committed to playing a constructive role in intergovernmental negotiations throughout 2015 and to contributing to the adoption of a truly transformative agenda." Implementing a new far-reaching agenda will be a "unique opportunity to redefine and strengthen the way the global community works together." For this new global partnership to succeed, "all will have to contribute".

In this crucial moment of time and in the context of the European Year for Development (EYD), the European Commission is launching a campaign on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the NGO Cartooning for Peace.
